Play Games to Improve Your Memory
If you think you need to be born with a great memory, you're wrong. You can develop a memory by utilizing certain techniques and attaining certain skills. You can do this by playing fun memory games. With these games, you'll have to use your memory so that you can win and to do so, you'll have to exercise your memory much as you would a muscle.
To find such games, you can look at your local store and see how many are available. You can also look on the Internet. In addition, use your imagination to find some that will help you retain information in your memory over time.
Think of "Simon Says"
Do you remember the game where different colored lights lit up in a pattern sequencing you had to remember it so that you could re-create it? The more you played this game, the faster it got. This was one of the best games you could use to improve memory. Even though this game might not still be around, several other games do utilize the same skills.
Because technology is more advanced today, more games just like Simon build memory power. They use the same light concept and also include sound and other variations that you must also re-create so that you must be even more attentive to what happens. These can be great games to improve your memory and can be a lot of fun, too.
Using Memory Card Games
Of course, there are also other much less technical games you can play that will still help you improve your memory. For example, the "memory card" game has you start with a series of cards that are face down. You flip the cards face up one by one and try to find pairs. There are many card games like this that can help you improve your memory. And just like the original Simon game, the more you play, the better you'll get. Before you know it, you'll win every game because your memory will be that good.
You can also make your own games by getting a set of index cards and drawing your own pictures on them. Design your cards in pairs so that the cards will be matching. You can also utilize this technique if you are a teacher and want to teach your students how to improve their memories. In addition, if you as a parent have children and you want to improve their memories, you can use these games to help your children, too.
And of course, using your imagination to come up with a game that will involve your memory and build upon your current memory capacity will only help you improve your retention capabilities, too. If you participate in these techniques, you'll use your sharp memory to amaze everyone, and they don't have to know that you just got it by playing games.
